Ashley L. Ruba

Position title: Diversity & Inclusion Chair

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow affiliated with the Department of Psychology and the Waisman Center. My fellowship is funded by the NIMH Training Program in Emotion Research (T32-MH018931). My research examines how infants and young children reason and learn about other people’s emotions. I grew up in North Carolina and completed my B.A. at Duke University (2013), before moving to Seattle to complete my Ph.D. at the University of Washington (2019). In my free time, I can be found writing, doing something active (bouldering, cycling, yoga), or hanging out with my cats, Tiger and Lilly.
