The UW-Madison Postdoctoral Association (UWPA) was created for and is run by people who are currently in postdoc positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Membership is free and you can choose your level of involvement – from attending a social event every now and then, to being on the Executive Council. We are always welcoming new members to take advantage of our career development events, get together for socials, and help shape the future of postdoctoral training on campus by getting involved!
Join the UW-Madison Postdoctoral Association by contacting us. Let us know your name, department and email address as well as what events and services for postdocs you would like to see happen on campus. We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming events by email or you can like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter (@Badgerdocs) to stay connected.
Being a member of the UW-Madison Postdoctoral Association puts you in touch with people like you, gives you access to professional development events, and helps to build your social and professional networks. Positions are currently open for membership on committees to organize seminars and events. Don’t just be a member, be a leader!
We know that many postdocs are new to Madison, or even new to the United States. As an organization we are both local and global with members willing to share their experience and information gained from living in Madison and international scholars on our executive committee that provide a voice for those looking to succeed in a new place. Being a member of the UW-Postdoctoral Association gives you the opportunity to meet people from across the globe as well as across campus, which is valuable both personally and professionally and helps us to grow our community of postdoctoral scholars at UW-Madison.
Even if you are not a current postdoc at UW-Madison, you can still attend many of the events that are organized by the Association, and you can join us as an Associate member. Meetings are held once per month. We welcome a diversity of people, ideas, opinions and skill sets to help us all better connect and grow together!
