Summer 2026

Get outside and enjoy the beautiful summer season in Madison. The UW-Madison Postdoctoral Association Engagement Committee is excited to announce a variety of social events to increase community and build connection among UW postdocs. We would love to see you there!

1. LunchHub Meetups @Allen Centennial Gardens 

LunchHubs go outside! Bring your own lunch and meet up with us for a casual catch-up and some lunch company from 12-1 pm. Registration not required; drop in anytime!
Location: Allen Centennial Garden (620 Babcock Drive). In the event of rain, we will head inside to Microbial Sciences Building, room 1205 (across the street)
Dates: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays;  August 5th, August 19th

2. Friday Funday Postdoc Happy Hour @ Memorial Union Terrace 

Join us for a happy hour meet-up at the Memorial Union Terrace to unwind from the week!  Memorial Union Terrace is located at 800 Langdon St; proceed to the back of the building next to the lake. Drinks are not provided.  5:30 pm, meet inside. Contact Gavin Rockwood (gavin.rockwood@wisc.edu). Registration not required.  First and Third Friday of the month (July 24th, August 7th, August 21st).  Join our mailing list for day-of updates and specific meeting location.

3. First Saturday hike at Token Creek County Park

Saturday 9/5 9:00 am-10:30 am. Token Creek County Park – 6200 Williamsburg Way, DeForest.
The UW Postdoc Association’s Engagement Committee invites postdocs to join a casual nature walk at Token Creek County Park (~3-mile loop). We will see fall wildflowers like asters and goldenrods and hopefully some wildlife! Friends and family members are welcome. Leashed dogs are allowed in the park.
Accessibility: This outing will take place on paved trails/wide grassy trails/some boardwalks; generally flat terrain.
