Address:
I am a nematologist and a fourth-year postdoctoral research associate in the Bent lab at Plant Pathology. I study nematodes of Soybeans – the soybean cyst nematode and root lesion nematodes – that are omnipresent problems of Wisconsin. I specifically look at how nematodes, soil microbes and plants interact with each other and how these interactions impact plant health. Being involved in committee work and service is one of my ways of recharging myself. I have been a student leader in various capacities from my undergraduate days in India, through my PhD at University of Minnesota. I also received the University of Minnesota President’s Award for Student Leadership. Hence, I am excited to be serving as President of UWPA, engage with other postdocs, something I crave after the self-imposed pandemic hermitage. I am looking forward to facilitating more transparency, fun and community engagement to UWPA, building on the amazing work previous executive teams have done thus far.
