Burcu is currently a postdoc from the Department of Bacteriology and Agronomy. She studied Molecular Biology and Genetics in Turkey for her undergraduate and moved to the U.S. in 2016 for her doctoral studies. She got her Ph.D. from Montana State University in 2020 in Plant Genetics. During her doctoral studies, she worked on wheat and malt barley. She is currently learning more about plant-beneficial microbe interactions and abiotic stress tolerance. Aside from work, she loves traveling, cooking, and doing arts and crafts. She loves music, plays a couple of instruments (not good at any of them), and is always down to going to concerts/music festivals.
