Md Hasanur Alam

Md Hasanur Alam is a Research Associate in the Department of Comparative Biosciences, School of Veterinary Medicine, at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he works in Dr. Kimberly Keil Stietz’s laboratory on reproductive toxicology and environmental health. His current research examines how environmental contaminants, including PCB mixtures, affect oocyte quality and reproductive outcomes, integrating transcriptomics, functional assays, and molecular techniques to understand mechanisms of reproductive toxicity with implications for future generations.

Dr. Alam earned his bachelor’s degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University and completed his Ph.D. in Animal Science from Kobe University, Japan, where his research focused on the in vitro growth culture of bovine oocytes. He brings over a decade of university teaching experience, along with a research portfolio spanning reproductive physiology, oocyte biology, and livestock science across multiple species.

As Vice President of UWPA, Dr. Alam is committed to advancing the professional development, community, and wellbeing of postdoctoral scholars across campus, drawing on his cross-cultural academic experience in Bangladesh, Japan, and the United States to support a diverse and interdisciplinary postdoc community.
