The UW-Madison Postdoctoral Association Postdoc Spotlight Series is a monthly feature highlighting the incredible work, diverse backgrounds, and unique journeys of postdocs across campus.
Each month, we showcase one postdoc whose story reflects the passion, curiosity, and creativity that fuel our campus research community. From career goals and scientific insights to hobbies and life lessons, this series is a space to celebrate postdocs as whole people – not just researchers.
The series aims to:
- Highlight the diversity of research, backgrounds, and experiences within the postdoc community.
- Build connections between postdocs across disciplines.
- Showcase achievements and promote individual visibility (helpful for job applications and networking).
- Humanize the postdoc journey: showing hobbies, challenges, and aspirations beyond research.
- Share postdoc work in a way that is visible and accessible.
- Inspire others within the postdoc community.
Interested in sharing your story? Contact Elisa Ale (eale@wisc.edu) and Kavita Mitkari (mitkari@wisc.edu).
Please note that eligibility for the Postdoc Spotlight Series is restricted to current UW-Madison postdocs with the appointment titles: Research Associate, Postdoctoral Fellow and/or Postdoctoral Trainee. Individuals with the title Honorary Associate/Fellow should contact Imogen Hurley (ihurley@wisc.edu) to confirm that they are eligible to participate.
Let’s celebrate the amazing postdocs behind the research at UW-Madison and beyond!
