Professional Development Committee
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Professional Development Committee of the UW–Madison Postdoctoral Association is to support postdocs by fostering career readiness, skill development, and professional growth. The committee is dedicated to equipping postdocs with the tools and resources they need to succeed in academia, industry, government, non-profit and other professional paths.
Activities and Initiatives:
- Organizing career panels and networking events that connect postdocs with professionals across diverse fields.
- Hosting seminars and workshops on topics such as grant writing, teaching, leadership, communication, and immigration pathways (e.g., permanent residency options).
- Coordinating peer mentoring programs and mock interview sessions to enhance preparedness and confidence.
- Building connections with industry and other sector partners and alumni to strengthen career opportunities and community engagement.
